What is the total number of Olympic Medals that can be won in the games?

I was wondering, after the games are finished, how many medals will be given out? In total, including silver, gold, and bronze.

  1. think of it like this 3 medals for every sport...thats like over a hundred...


  2. some events give out 4 medals  Boxing  Wrestling and Taekwondo there could be more 2 Bronze in those events

  3. I believe it was supposed to be something like there are 119 possible gold medals.  China made some mission 119 thing about trying to up their gold medal count, so I think that does that.  so 119 multiplied by 3 and that's the total number of medals.  So like 357 I think?

  4. 906 unless there are some dead heats...that cannot be predicted. 302 gold, 302 silver and 302 bronze placements.

    the actual number of medals would be hard to calculate because of the big team events where each member gets a medal for a medal placing win. I am sure the official website has the data somewhere.
