  1. Don't know why people are naming a borough when answering the toughest area.  There are good and bad parts of every borough.  I always felt that Brooklyn had some of the toughest spots though, Brownsville, East New York, BedStuy

  2. Immigration Control Centre.

Ever been a visitor to the USA from say, Europe?

They are the most hostile unfriendly bunch imaginable.

  3. According to the NYPD, it's the 43rd precinct at the moment, which is in the southeast area of the Bronx.

  4. Yeah New York has cleaned its act up, hardly any murders anymore. If you want to see someplace bad then you should visit Detroit, Baltimore or East St. Louis.

  5. been to New York  seven times on holiday been up to Harlem and to the Bronx zoo there are good and bad places every where in the world but Manhattan is the only place i would feel safe walking at night time .I would not dream of going into a city late at night in the uk .

            Good old New York

  6. South Bronx. But it isn't as bad as it used to be really.

New York is very safe and gentrified these days.

By the way Immigration  people worldwide are awful to everyone most everywhere - don't take it personally.

  7. My friend, New York City has had the lowest crime rate of any large city in the last 15 years. In regards to the Bronx, this borough has change a lot in the last 10 to 15 years. People still think that the Bronx is still a bad place to live, but let me tell you, that this borough of 2.5 million residence is not the borough that was the depicted in the movie "Fort Apache the Bronx." And if you don't believe, them come visit the Bronx and see it for yourself.

    Good luck

  8. bronx

  9. I would say Bronx, because in the ghetto, you have to have a strong heart and always watch your back.

  10. Brooklyn

The Bronx has lovely neighborhoods with million dollar homes sitting on the banks of the Long Island Sound.  The Bronx has beaches, fishing, skiing, horseback riding, golf course and The Bronx Zoo.

The shame of it is too many people living in Manhattan never get off the island
