Question:

What is the toughest sporting event in the olympics?

In terms of the amount of physical effort output. I'm thinking the 10 km open ocean swim??? but then again - Marathons?? cycling?? anyone know how they rate that stuff..cheers

  4. i agree, every sport is equally touch and challenging in its own way. each athlete must train just as hard as the next.

  5. They can't rate it before I think they're all pretty hard. But I think that the hardest are anything that's long- marathons, 10k swims...

    i used to do it but i quit

    twisting and flipping like that is not a natural function for you body

    i have back problems from it


  7. I definitly think the still rings or the pommel horse are the 2 hardest events. you have to have an incredible amount of strength to be able to successfully conquer these events.  

  8. 50K walk has to be at or near the top of any events list.

    In the 2000 Olympics, it was called "The toughest event on the hottest day"

  9. I reckon its the walks, not just that its physically gruelling but the incredible mental toughness to maintain the concentration needed to place the feet correctly while still maintaining speed and a race plan... so often I see competitiors fall by the wayside in the walks....

  12. My friend, the toughest event will be the one I'm watching right now, the Marathon. At 26.2 miles (42.16km), its tough on any person's body.

    poeple think its g*y but wrestling is probally one of the tuffest sports in the world.

    there the best conditioned athletes on the planet
