I have a 2001 GMC Jimmy; bought used; never had a manual. There is a button that says 'Tow/Haul'. What's it for? I recently bought a small camper trailer to tow and I'm wandering if I should push that button when I'm towing the camper trailer?

  1. Its possible that it might do a few things.

First off, it might alter the back brakes. Vehicles brakes operate differently when there is a weight in the back, and perhaps this switch changes the brake settings.

It might also raise the rear shocks to compensate for the load.

Possibly, it will change the gearbox shifting parameters as well, and lock out overdrive until you are on a constant speed.

  2. just press it, it will most likley just kick off overdrive and run a higher RPM.
