It was a rectangular-shaped plastic box about 12" x 8" and about 4" tall. There was like a board area that pushes down and you had lots of little shapes that you had to put in their spots before the timer went off and the board sprang up and the pieces would go flying. The little pieces were yellow plastic. I can't remember what this game was called, can anyone else?

  1. The game you are looking for is called Perfection.

While I doubt you would want your toddler to play with this type of game today, it was more for younger kids to play with. The little shapes proved very easy to swallow for toddlers and was later adjusted in age to be appropriate only for ages 10 and up.
