  1. Sorry but no train goes directly from Penn to LGA ...I don't really understand the question but the direction of travel would be northeast

  2. You cannot take the train from penn Station to LGA.

    Your best bet is this:

Take the A train to 125th Street

Just outside the subway entrance at 125 is the bus stop for the M60 bus which will take you to LGA.

All told it is at least 90 minutes.

It is better if you do this during the day.

  3. If you just want the direction, you want the "Uptown and Queens" platform.  Don't forget that getting on the bus or subway will cost you $2.00.  You can get one free transfer from bus to subway, subway to bus, or bus to bus (different routes) within a two hour period.

Keep in mind that there is no train that travels to LGA.  You could do what Rob said (take the A train to the M60 bus), or you could take the E train to Roosevelt Avenue/74th St./Jackson Heights, and get on the Q33 bus, which also goes to LGA.

If you have any luggage, however, I strongly suggest that you take a taxi cab.  I live in Queens, and taking luggage on the subway is not very hard, but on the bus is a completely different story.  Just take any taxi (they're yellow, and there will be many waiting at Penn Station for passengers like you.  If you want to take a livery cab, allow me to recommend Boulevard (718) 263-2223, or Four Ones (718) 441-1111.

    Have a good trip.
