How is the conjunction "so" (i.e. It was a beautiful day, so the children played outside) translated in French, and is there a particular construction I need to do?

  1. C'était une belle journée, alors les enfants sont sortis jouer dehors.

Even better would be : si bien que les enfants...

  2. 'alors' means 'so.'

  3. "donc"

It was a beautiful day, so the children played outside  -> C'était une belle journée, donc les enfants ont joué dehors.

donc + subject + verb + ... (like a normal sentence, no special structure, no inversion or whatsoever)

  4. "Alors" or "donc"
