All vets here are specialized in cattles and farm animals not tortoises.

  1. Infections require antibiotics, which you can only get from a vet.

Please make a vet available or your pet is in for a slow and painful death and you can be breaking the law by denying medical care for your pet. It's called "neglect".

  2. I am so sorry your tortoise is sick and their is no exotic vet around. Perhaps you could convince one of the local vets to consider treating it anyways. I am including some links just for general info. I don't know anything about tortoises but they are beautiful.

**You reallly should do your best to find a vet because you really do not know what this is and would not want to lose your tortoise.

But perhaps you could see if there are any OTC products at a good pet store dealing with reptiles for respiratory ailments. They do for birds and fish. It cannot hurt to call. But in the end a vet is the best choice, even if you have beg one.

  3. If it isn't too late - don't let it get near ice berg lettuce.
