  1. I have PC-OS (as it's widely known).

I have never ovulated before and have had extremely irregular periods all my life.

PC-OS causes a woman to not ovulate, and the follicles that would have become full grown eggs harden and sit on the ovaries. The "cysts" as they are then called cause even more difficulty  to later be able to ovulate. A side effect is gaining weight constantly (linked to insulin resistance) and an excess of male hormones (related to not ovulating I guess).

There is hope at the end of the tunnel. As I said I have never ovulated before, but this month for the first time I ovulated naturally.

I lost a lot of weight and was on the pill for 6 months to try force my body into a regular cycle.

I was at the gyne last Monday for a check up after going off the pill. My left ovary is full of cysts again (I had them removed with Ovarian Drilling last year) and on the right side it was there, the perfect follicle, waiting to be released.

I am now on my two week wait to hear if I have fallen pregnant. So it can be done, but there id often quite a bit of heartache and pain before the miracle of a pregnancy!!!
