What is the tree of life?

what are the meanings of it?

i read online about how it is just a symbol of life and how wonderful it is, but im not quite sure i grasp it. could you tell me in your own words?

  1. From one perspective : A tree is composed of a few parts and can be compared to a person and his generations. The trunk is a person, the roots are the person's ancestors, and  the branches are the person's children. It is important that one holds onto his ancestor's traditions and values b/c that is what grounds you.

    From a religious perspective, the Bible is the Tree of Life and anyone who holds onto it is fortunate ( b/c of what is written in the Bible)
