  2. Usually too,  these cyclones are a result of tropical waves that get enhanced  by upper air phenomena that draws the air upwards and begins an area of low pressure.   Warm waters and cool upper air patterns enhance these areas.

  3. They occur by the same processes as hurricanes or typhoons, which are the same thing.  Thunderstorms develop around a low level low pressure area and intensify it, using the high amount of stored heat from the warm ocean waters beneath them.  The Cyclone strengthens until conditions do not allow for more strengthening.
