What is the trinity?

K, by now you all probably know I'm Mormon. (Please no bashing on this question.)

I have a general idea... such as God, Christ and the Holy Ghost are all one person, right? Not one in purpose (three seperate individuals as I believe). I just want to understand all your beliefs better. :) Thanks.

the trinity is an asinine concept less than 1700 years old, not taught in the old or new testament, conjured up at the council of nicea.
