  3. It depends on the region.  In the south, people tend to eat rice with every meal.  In the north, people are more likely to eat tasteless (though I love it) steamed bread or noodles with their meals.  Pork, beef, goat, and chicken are all common meats.  Vegetables of all kinds are eaten everywhere.  Sichuan is known for spicy food, but people do eat spicy food elsewhere.  If I had to choose one quintessential Chinese food, it would be Jiaozi (or dumplings) which are often called pot stickers in the US.  Where I lived in the north, however, jiaozi were boiled and not steamed or fried.

  4. rice, noodles, dumplings

    steam-baked bread and baked pancakes

anything stir-fried = meat, fish, vegerable mixes

    various soups

marinaded vegetables and different sauces/ oils

these are the most common and popular

  5. rice, fish, meat, vegetables.

  6. It really depends on what province or district you're in. In Sichuan, they have the famous sweet-and-sour dishes, and for the Cantonese, their meals consists of rice with many types of meats and vegetables. For the Teochews, they eat porridge with many other dishes. For the Hainanese, they have chicken rice. But all are delicious! Totally unrivalled! (:
