  1. about £50

  2. Iguanas turn in to VERY expensive pets over time. Denpending on where you are, and how common iguanas are a baby could be anywhere from 5-60$.

What is expensive about the iguana is their care. You'll need Sun-lights (UBV-UVA), large custom built terrariums with lots of ventilation, lounging space (such as vines, branches, trees, steps ect.) and open space. The enclosure should be a minimun of 6'x6', ideal is up to 12'x6' when they are adults.

Iguanas are from the tropics and require enclosure temperatures of 80-85F with basking spots of 90-95F. In such a large enclosure with ventilation it is often difficult to manage temparatures and humidity (65-75%)

Their diet is also specialized and very varied. Should you not provide appropiate caging, diet and ultraviolet needs, your iguana will die a very slow painful death caused by metabolism

    diseases.

You should be aware too, that those little cute things you see in petstores will grow to be larger than you, most likely 6-7' or even larger in some specimens. That is why such large enviroments are needed. If you are a beggining herper and have not had experience with reptiles that are large and very high maintenance, and iguana is NOT for you. Go get a beardie, gecko or skink. They are fairly smaller and make great starting species. However if you insist, make sure you read caresheets, books or even visit your local zoo if they have a display for iguanas to see their size and consider if you have the time and money for this kind of animal.

  3. why do you want one? have you read up on them and know what you need and what kind of things to expect?  is there a local vet that specializes in reptiles? you need to be prepaired and knowledege is the key.  have fun with it. check out local reptile shows they are normally less expensive there and taken care of better

  4. i see them fairly often for $25

you might also want to check kijiji and craigslist for home breeders

  5. you really didnt say where you live and prices range everywhere..

pet stores are the WORST place to buy ANY animal from.. always look for local breeders or at the shelter first

the cage set up will cost the most.. make sure it is HUGE!!!

  6. I just saw 2 at Petco for 49.99 It didn't say they were on sale so I assume that is their normal price. But then you'd have to be nuts to buy any pet animal from petco
