  1. Why don't you take a week or so off from school or work and read it.

Then call and write your Senators and Representatives if they read it before they voted on it.

  2. Death to the Constitution.

  3. it's just one tiny little itty bitty baby step toward a fascist police state...

don't worry to much about it....  They won't be microchipping you for at least another 20 years or so...

  4. Well it effectively illiminates at LEAST 2 of the Bill of Rights. "right to search and seizure" & "freedom of speech" in many ways. PATRIOT act I might add was passed in senate 99-1 Do a little research and read it ! It's a little scary this was allowed to happen and I hope they repeal it instead of what the choices left say about keeping it.

Dennis Kucinich dropped out yesterday, but he voted against it in Congress, unlike the candidates remaining.

  5. It is an act designed to make it easier to find terrorists.  In response to the other posts:

If the government really wanted to sit there and listen to people's personal problems, we would have already had another terrorist attack.  Do you really think the government cares about everyday conversations of regular US citizens...I highly doubt it... they only tap lines where they feel there is a suspected threat of terrorism...and they do a lot of work and research before listening to the average Joe's phone conversation.   The Patriot act protects you and me from terrorist attacks in the United States and I can't imagine why anyone would be against that.  It's like saying let's not have screening at the airport...that is a violation of my personal space....Let terrorists have free reign, because I am worried about them finding my personal things in my suitcase.

Here is the actual Patriot Act, read it for yourself and see what you think:
