  1. You get to be ALWAYS right and maintain self-righteousness in the face of overwhelming contrary rational evidence.  But even better......you never have to look at the deeper issues in your psychic structure giving rise to the food symptoms.  You can gloss over them by saying you do it for animal welfare.  Everyone will think your politically correct and caring and you'll never be confronted to have to take a real hard look at what really caused them and how those causative agents might be affecting other areas of your functioninh unbeknownst to you.

  2. The Ultimate Upside is that If you hate someones cooking, you can say that you're a Vegetarian/Vegan, and you won't be a liar.

As for singers, that's actually a good question, many creative types are vegetarians. I also noticed older actors have become vegetarians too.

  3. health,( you add 5-10 years on your life)

    treatment of animals.

  4. Animals don't have to die for you to be full.

Less salt is in your diet.

You're forced to eat more vegetables to get your protein and as everyone knows, veggies are good for you! Which is why it's weird that most people get a big piece of meat, some mashed potatoes and a small handful of veggies for dinner. Why not fill your whole plate with em if we all know how healthy they are?

Plus we wouldn't need to waste billions of acres of land to keep cows walking around so we can then kill them and eat them. Less of the world's water would be polluted with animal f***s, and less of the world's vegetation would be trampled on or eaten by animals because we wouldn't be breeding them (because we wouldn't need to eat them).

We could also afford to give more grains to low-income countries instead of instead of using them to fatten up cows.

  5. because it's healthy.

and of course you dont eat your animal friends. =]

It always made me feel guilty, and a little grossed out... haha so I became a vegetarian.

Doesn't seem like there are any down-sides! =]

    (at least for me. haha)

  6. health, ethics - how cool is it to feed the fruits of the earth to animals to slaughter for our consumption?  not to mention an inefficient use of those fruits.  it takes a lot more of the stuff to produce meat that to feed ourselves

  7. You live longer. Vegetarians and vegans are at low risk of a heart attack, stroke, diabetes, high cholesterol, and high blood pressure

  8. If the current uptrend is continue (and other factors remain unchange), 43.2% of world population will be vegetarian by the year 2019.

This is what the world is leading to.
