  1. The US Farm Bill is a piece of legislation that determines government agricultural policies.  The farm bills are rewritten every few years as per changes in international trade relations, environmental issues, food supplies and safety, and rural communities.

It may be considered a food bill because the bulk of the issues the Farm Bill confronts have to do with food supplies, regulations for farmers that produce items that eventually become food, etc.  The use of pesticides, growth hormones, the prevalence of certain livestock diseases, and many other issues might contribute to the consequences of the bill.

Do your research - even a google search or wikipedia search will yield a lot of information.  Also, the government makes previous Farm Bills available to be read online.
