What you can do with Geoinformatics?

Here are some examples

1) In US it is used by the tax men to calculate the land tax. They use aerial photographs to measure the land and tax accordingly.

2) When the WRI (World Resources Institute) mapped the cholera outbreak in South Africa, it was able to reduce the

mortality rate from the usual 10 per cent of those

infected to 0.2 per cent. The health department of the

South African Government used GIS (Geographical

Information Systems) to determine the spread of the

disease, and to disseminate information to people in

high-risk areas about preventive measures, like boiling

water and milk before drinking.

3) The Indian Army uses Geoinformatics to know the terrain and the nearby area to know where they can place the artillery.
