The present perfect continuous tense is used to talk about or express actions that started in the past and continue into the present. Whereas the past perfect continuous tense is used to talk about or express actions that started in the past , continued for a period of time in the past and may or may not have already ended. Examples:1. I have been seeing a shrink. (I started seeing one in June and I am still seeing him or her) 2. I had been seeing a shrink for six months when I decided to start college. ( I started seeing the shrink in the past and saw him or her for 6 months, then I started college)
