  1. I heard before that you can't get Swiss citizenship/passport EVEN IF you were born in Switzerland IF your parents are from another country.

But this may have changed now...

  2. You need to have lived in Switzerland for 12 years and then need to be approved by the Canton and municipality etc.  It is not easy.  Birth in Switzerland to non-Swiss parents gives no citizenship rights at all.

  3. An easier option is what they call "Facilitated Naturalization".

Foreign spouses of Swiss nationals who have lived in Switzerland for a year may apply for facilitated naturalization after three years of marriage, provided they have lived in Switzerland for a total of five years (instead f the usual 12). People who have close ties with Switzerland may apply for facilitated naturalization even if they are resident abroad. In such cases, however, they must have been married to a Swiss spouse for at least six years.

People who want to be naturalized in this way must be integrated into their Swiss environment. In addition, they must comply with the Swiss rule of law, and they must not endanger Switzerland's security.

  4. You don't throw down the Bronze Olympic metal that's for sure!

    Sorry! I just had to.
