Götz dolls and the New York State Collectible commission is proud to declare the Elizabeth Cady Stanton (Elizabeth Cady Stanton 12 November 1815 - 26 October 1902) doll as the very first official New York State Collectible. Shown at the age of 10, she wears the Red Dress, covered with an apron. Her hair is curly and blond, pulled back in a style of the day for older girls. White trim is at her throat and cuffs, and soft leather shoes peek out from beneath long lace-trimmed white cotton pantaloons.
The little red dress ahe wears may have been a symbol for all that she wanted to change about her life. She and her sisters had to dress alike, and this dress became a symbol of all that kept her from doing what she wanted.
