  1. You could go to a library and look in a coin catalog. It's likely worth a couple of bucks. Unless coins are very rare and in good condition they generally aren't worth as much as you may think. There tends to be a lot of them and they tend to last a long time.

Also - it must be Upper Canada or Lower Canada or something else since Canada doesn't come into existence until 1867.

  2. why dont you list it on ebay

  3. It is worth somewhere between $75.00 and $600.00 (retail Canadian) depending on the condition.  Selling it you could probably get about half of the value. Look in your local phone book under numismatics, hobby shops, or coins. or try a google search for your province and coins for a dealer in your area.

With the range in value on this coin you may want to get it graded, the coin could easily be worth $150 retail in decent condition.

There were 421,000 minted of this coin at the British Royal Mint in London, England.  Canada did not have its' own mint until 1908.

In addition to what someone wrote earlier it is a "Province of Canada" coin.

  4. I would suggest you get this penny appraised by a professional before you bring it in. There must be a website where you can find someone near your location. I would hold on to it, until I got it appraised.
