There is very little value to a sapphire doublet. It is normally either synthetic sapphire or glass on the bottom, with a very thin layer of low quality sapphire on the top, so that if it is tested only on the top, it shows as real. They were made to defraud people, but are ok as long as the client is told what it is. Again, very little value.
