It isn't that simple; there is not a single common currency in Africa - the individual countries have their own money and the relative value of currency fluctuates all the time.There are a number of currency conversion calculators on line including: http://www.xe.com/ucc/ and http://money.cnn.com/data/currencies/con... but the African currencies aren't commonly included.

    One dollar is equivalent to 7.56 South African Rand right now. It's also approximately 61.94 Algerian Dinars, 5.296 Egyptian pounds, 106.986 Kenyan Shillings, 18,681,527,512.36 Zimbabwe dollars (not a typo - almost 19 billion!)

    You can check other African countries for yourself. On the 1st site I gave you, click on the "more currencies" link under "To this currency:" and then select the country you're interested in.
