  1. Yahoo updated chess you now need the new version. But you have to remove the old one 1st.

normal clearing of cache does not remove game demos.(deleting browser history old files clearing cookies, ect)

click start button,,search, click on files/folders, type in yahoo chess. When file comes up, right click on it then click remove. Next trip to chess it will prompt you to download the new demo of yahoo's newest version of chess.

Some computers this doesn't work. not sure why,I use XP So here is another way is: go to; tools on your tool bar, select Internet options, browser history, settings button,,view objects button. Select( right click) on the game chess {or any of the yahoo game demo's listed you want to remove} listed then delete it.

  2. I too had the same problem when I re-installed WIN XP.

This is what worked for me.

I removed Flash 9  through the Control Panel. Then in Internet -- Tools---Options   , removed all cookies, temp files.

Then downloaded and installed Flash version 7. Then Yahoo Chess worked.

But I am having a different problem now. I can't see sites like You Tube. It asks me to get the latest version of Flash.

Can someone suggest an answer to this.

  3. I can help you with your problem. Recently Yahoo updated their chess software, the older version no longer works right. Now the standard ways of clearing cache (deleting browser history, temp files, cookies) unfortunately will not remove the older outdated game. Click on Start button, search, using files/folders. Type in yahoo chess. When file comes up, right click on it then click remove. Next time you go to Yahoo chess it will prompt you to download the new demo for latest version of yahoo chess. Good luck.
