What is the view of Ireland and Irish people?

I have Irish ancestors. I went to visit Ireland several years ago and loved the people and the countryside.

I love the stories they tell and their hospitality.

Can´t say anything wrong about them.There´s a lot of people that are Irish in the world,some good,some bad....as everywhere.

As a nation?Nice I suppose! I have never been there,I´m Catalan,live in Spain,but my step father-in-law is Irish and he´s a very nice man,he´s got a very good sense of humor and loves his drinks,especially whisky!! I have to take some to Edinburgh(where they live) everytime we visit.

I´ve seen photos of Ireland,and it looks lovely.I wouldn´t mind going there!

Politically? Difficult to answer this one.I would tell them to keep their heritage and language,the same thing we catalans do.

My love for the Irish comes from my love for their temperament, slightly nostalgic and somehow inviting you to take part in whatever it is they're doing...

Irish people are just like any other people , they smile when happy,bleed red when wounded , eat and all the other stuff that goes with it , just that they drink a "little more"  at lest compared with me  lol

I guess I may be a little biased as my partner's family are from Ireland (some living in the UK, and some living over there).

I love the so-called Irish charm, I love the humour, I love the Irish drinks!

I visited Ireland for the first time in January, and really loved the place.  Dublin was great, but the countryside was fantastic.

The only things that did surprise me was the vast number of eastern Europeans living and working their (even the RyanAir cabin crew with Lithuanian) and also how expensive goods are.
