  1. A pilots vision distance is infinate If he looks up on a cloudless night.  As long as he hasn't been staring at the book hes reading for too long.

  2. The visibility depends upon the conditions on the day.  Those conditions being mostly weather and atmospheric, as well as how high and surrounding terrain.  For example, on a clear day a pilot might be able to see 50-100 miles or more if they are high enough.  If conditions are hazy, such as from smog, you might have only 1 mile visibility.  In bad weather such as fog, rain, snow, or storms, visibility might only be 1/4 mile.  And in the clouds you might not be able to see your own wings when you look out the window.

  3. Your question is not clear.  Are you asking "How far can a pilot see when in the air?"

The answer is that the line of sight distance increases with altitude.  From 3000 feet above ground with good visibility you can see 20-25 miles.  From 30,000 feet you can see several hundred miles.

Line of sight is also affected by atmospheric conditions, which vary from moment to moment.  Clouds and haze can reduce line of sight visibility to nothing.  So it can be anywhere from nothing to 500 miles, depending on where you are and what's going on.

If that's not what you are asking, then sorry.  Please try again to make your question more clear.

  4. It depends on whether I'm wearing the "corrective lenses" referenced on my medical certificate, as indeed I should be.
