His high notes are the first note of the song, in the introduction -- "YOU wait little girl on an empty stage ..." and in the matching phrase "YOUR life little girl is an empty page ..."  then, at the end he slides up on the words "I'll" and "care" ("I'LL take CARE of you")

I'd say he's a male mezzo-soprano. He doesn't really sing apart from in '16 going on 17'.
