  1. u don't call you walk in and ask if you can have an application

  2. Don't call! Think about it. People answering the telephone are usually your compentition and/or the LAST people to know if a job opening is about to come open.

Go in person! Bring a resume and look sharp (but not too dressed up). Ask for a manager and just introduce yourself. It's worth it!!!

  3. Good answers above.  Also, remember to not go during their busiest time of day.  The manager will probably not have too much time to spend with you if it is the lunch hour rush.

  4. I would "inquire within" when applying for a fast food job.. Fast food restaurants are very busy places and the phone is more of an annoyance.  Simply go up there and ask for an application and be prepared to fill it out there and maybe have an on the spot interview.  So, look nice, bring a resume, have ID, social security and everything ready.... Also, don't forget to bring a pen!

    Good luck

  5. I would go in person to the store/restursaunt that you would like to work at. When you are there ask if they have any job opening and if they don't know then they will have you talk to a manager and if the manager is not there or they are busy they will tell you when a better time to meet with the manager is.

  6. Don't call! Go to the resteraunt, and fill out an application.

  7. You can call to ask if they are hiring, but for the most part just walk in and ask for an application.

  8. You could call, but it may be best to arrive at the store/restaurant, and ask them in person if they have any openings.  They may refer you to a manager, while on the phone, they may not be so willing to refer you to the person in charge.  That's been my experience, at least.

  9. I can tell you from being a restaurant manager for over 20 years DO NOT CALL. If someone takes the time to come in ,,I always take the time to talk to them but I figure that if someone can not even get off there butt to come in, then I usually just have them put into my voice mail and MAYBE return the call. Please if you want a job go in.

  10. Never call. Apply in person, be neat and clean and prepared.ALWAYS have a pencil or pen to write with(key word, prepared).  Best time is during slow periods when managers or owners have time to interview. The main quality the seek is dependability. They want to know if you have transportation, babysitters, a track record of dependability(on-time, lack of absenteeism). Be persistent.  Even if there is no current opening, fill out  an application anyway.  There is a high turnover in the restaurant business.  Stopping back and talking to the same manager will impress him with your perseverence.  Take an application home and make several copies, many of the forms are identical and will save you time at future interviews(they may insist you fill out the form on site, to see if you can read, write, and follow directions).  They may be unable to find your old application on your return trip, and will be impressed with your copy.  You want to be more impressive than other applicants.  Apply this on the job also.  If you just do the requirements, you will stand out head and shoulders over people just trying to do the minimum. If you attempt to exceed these requirements, and excel, they will recognize a budding superstar.  When you are recognized, and I guarantee you will be, express interest in advancement. It is a known management tenet that you don't offer management to those who don't ask for it.If you want it, ask for it, but beware 'time and again' (salary) over time and a half(hourly)
