Increase biodiversity by eliminating monoculture dependency (in terms of variety) as promoted by Monsanto.  By doing so, you would be using varieties that are suitable for the region where they are grown.  This type of agriculture has never been used since the invention of large-scale modern equipment.

The current methodology is resulting in the loss of genetic information each day.  Perserving heirloom seeds that have been bred for a particular region is the key.  If these are put into a conventional agricultural setting (with slight modifications), there would be a phenomenal increase in yield and quality.

I dont know how many from this group are associated with farmers from India but there are many problems and there are solutions to them also. If we could identify problems and give solution, then we can improve the agriculture. Agriculture being of prime importance to the world and got no option till there is life on earth so a serious strategy to support workers, farmers etc in agriculture should be given priority. In India, farmers are confused. When they look at the growth in town then they feel like selling their land and rush to big cities. We need to have policies to control this flow. Secondly, should earn enough to run their families. Farmers are not earning per day salary given by any industry. So it is obivious that they are going to look at industry for earnings and leave farm for others. A serious thought should be given to this area. Finally, a strategy should be employed for rates to their produce.

All these things are highly affected by politicians and business persons.

There are many problems than described above like environmental, social etc. Improve working conditions for farmers and u can improve agriculture.

SUPPLY OF WATER TO THE AGRICULTURAL LAND SHOULD BE EXTENDED.PLOUGHING THE LAND AND PUTTING MANURE WILL INCREASE PRODUCTIVITY.IMPORTANT CULTIVATION ARE WHEAT, RICE,VEGETABLES,FRUITS,PULSES,ETC. IT IS VERY EASY TO MAKE AGRICULTURAL PROPERTY.SHOULD HAVE WORKERS FOR THAT.AGRICULTURAL RESEARCH SHOULD BE EXTENDED.
