  1. You are referring to the mongoose.

  2. It's a mongoose.  Some Indians have taken them as pets to other countries, like Fiji.

  3. Rikki Tikki Tavi was a mongoose. I absolutely loved (and still do!) this story and flick. Check out the 3 clips on youtube.com

  4. The Asian Mongoose.

  5. Rudyard Kipling wrote many stories about life in India.

As was referred to ,one of those stories is Riki - tiki-Tavi.

The mongoose that protected a family of British folks, a little child especially from the bite of the Cobra.

Rudyard Kipling also wrote the original story THE JUNGLE BOOK!

    not the Disney Studios!

  6. You are thinking of mongooses, which are famous for killing snakes such as cobras. They are not related to weasels - weasels belong to the family Mustelidae, whilst mongooses belong to the family Herpestidae.

EDIT: Thumbs down? WTF? This isn't a question of opinion - I'm just stating facts here. Someone is clearly giving me thumbs down just because they don't like me, not based on my answer. Whoever you are, grow up.

  7. what?  you never read  Rikki-Tikki-Tavi ?

    you should.

    it's a really good story.

about a mongoose, who was so flexible, he could scratch himself just about anywhere he wanted, with any foot he wanted.

and he protected his family from cobras.

the bad news is that they were intentionally introduced in Hawaii, to kill the rats.

but they are diurnal animals, and rats are nocturnal.

however, they've pretty much done in almost all the native Hawaiian birds.
