What is the weather generally like in the south of new zealand in february?

I am going there for a holiday and would like to go hiking so am looking forward for good weather.

  1. Most likely the weather will be fantastic!

    That's subjective though..where are you from?

    For New Zealand, it's likely to be hot and dry..possibly humid.

    February through to April are the best months..though global warming has had it's effects.

    When you say "the south of New Zealand" do you mean the south of the South Island? All of the South Island is beautiful..but you'll have a fabulous time in Queenstown..make sure you have pots of money to spend though! Dunedin is gorgeous too!

    If you can spare the time & money, try and fit Nelson and the Marlborough Sounds into your itinerary. You won't be disappointed!
