What is the weather in Ireland like during the month of May?

May = Rain and if you're very lucky beach weather but more then likely rain!

August, September as was said is the best time to come and possibly July (last year wasn't great)

You're never guaranteed any prolonged weather though, the forecast may say heatwave and we'll get a monsoon! I'm off to Hawaii anyway for 3 months so I'll be back in August to soak up the sun that's left when I'm back :)

Rain. Sun. Sun Showers. Thunder. Rain .... All in one hour. Our weather is crazy. Come in August/Semptember ... they're our best months ... X

Like it is all year round - changeable and unpredictable. But you do get nice long evenings in May, it's light until nearly 10 pm.

u can never be guaranteed what way the weather will be like as ireland is known for its wet days, however we do often get nice sunshine and longer evenings in may :)
