What is the weather in mexico like during the month DEC?

mainly looking for how it is, might be planning a vaca around that time, would a cruise be a good idea?

Where I live, In the state of Jalisco, it rains from time to time and it only ever gets cold at night sometimes (in December of course)

You need to be more specific, it's a big country. That's like asking what's the weather like in December in the USA? Know what I mean? The people from Wisconsin are going to have a totally different answer than those in Florida.

But, that being said, the weather in most tourist spots in December is good/great. You can look up historical weather information for specific sites at the site below. Click the location and look for the "History & Almanac" section, set the date to some time in December and look at a couple of years.

Most of the places on the cruise ship routes should be fine, though sometimes winter storms (called Nortes) can make the gulf of Mexico windy and rough but as far as I know that's not a big problem on the west coast or in the Carribean. (Though I could be wrong since I'm not very familiar with the west coast)

It dependes on where in México; this a huge country, its longitude is big from north to south, and the altitude in the inner lands is very high, so the weather varies greatly in short distances:

I live in Jalisco state too (as someone said), but in the Highlands (los altos), in december it is cold (frozen water some days), max. about 17ºC; but in this same state you can find Puerto Vallarta (beach in Pacific) which is sunny and warm in december, or the snow at the limits to Colima state (southern Jalisco). This is only in one state, there are 31 states (plus Mexico City, the Federal District), and the weather is very different: from desertic north to tropical jungle in the south, passing the cold forest at the mountains arround Mexico city (central Mexico).

About beach, Cancún is ok, Los Cabos the water is cold and weather is 21-26º C, Puerto Vallarta and Ixtapa in day are over 30º C, but night are fresh, in other cities for example town is cold 20º more or less, but there are parts colder like north.

Well in mexico the weather is always hot and very sunny, it rarely rain alot but if you want to go during december the weather is like about 82C.  While during june-august is about 92C.

ok like most of the other users said already it does vary by region because Mexico has  several types of habitats ranging from mountains, deserts, jungles, coasts,and etc. With that being said a rule of thumb for most parts of Mexico (not always 100 percent the case)  the farther south you go the warmer it is going to be (even in december) The farther central north part is going to be colder in december) Now the cities that lie on the west and east coast (ocean coasts) are gonna be warmer either way. but the northern it is the colder the water such as mazatlan ( it on the west coast but higher north )has colder water but still beautiful temperature in december. So if you plan on taking a cruise its is a good because the places the cruise takes are gonna be places like cancun and etc and its going to be nice. Although like most places, at night it can get a little chilly so bringing a light sweater and longer bottoms (jeans, slacks, sweats,etc couldnt hurt) Have fun Mexico is such an amazing place

Well it depends on what part of mexico you want to visit. For example Chihuahua is really cold during the winter, but the south has a nice weather like around 10° C, if you visit the beach its going to be like 20° C or so.
