What is the weather like during september in manhattan ny?

i'm leaving sunny/ too hot to breath southern ca. aug the 30'th and arriving to ny the same day and staying for 8 days just wondering what the weather will be like during my stay?

The very beginning of September in NY, it will still be nice.  You would probably be arriving at around the nicest times of the year here--it'll be warm, but not usually hot and humid.  I will warn you that it will probably rain, so bring an umbrella.  Also pack a light sweater, because it sometimes gets cool at night.  For the daytime, you can probably still wear shorts and sandals but will also be comfortable in pants.

My friend, the weather in NYC, in the month of September, is very nice and warm. Not as hot as in Southern CA, however, you will still have to wear shorts and t-shirts.
