  1. my husband is dutch and he is from the north (den oever). i have lived in holland myself for a short time, and the summers there arent hot at all, very enjoyable!! but while we were there visiting in june of last year, we could only wear shorts 2 days outta a 2 week vacation. it was cold and rainy most of june. you never know with holland weather, and if it is cloudy it is most likely chilly out

  2. The weather in Amsterdam is not stable. It can be raining, sunshine, storm and quiet weatrher in one day. lots of days with sunshine, but you cannot count on a sunny summer.

  3. You can look up the number of days the sun shines or the number of days it rains, but let me give you the view of a local (I live 20 km out of that town.)

There can be rain any day of the year, but when you go to work by bike you only get real soaking wet less than 3 times a year average.

We have drizzle more often, sometimes weeks on an end, but a good coat and you will not even notice.

On other times we can have dry and sunny weather for weeks on an end, without any rain at all.

The temperature is moderate, nearly never real cold in winter, nearly never hot in summer.

Most of the year a light jacket is good enough, in summer a thinner one than in winter, of course.

Winter temps are around freezing, dipping down at night, being coldest when going to work in the morning, but winter afternoon temps are sometimes as high as a cool day in summer.

Right now we have a couple of nights the night temp dips down to nearly freezing, which is colder than we had most of the winter.

    Crazy country for weather.
