My friend told me that it is hurricane season in JA right now and her mother who still lives there told her it's been raining every day. Is this true?

  1. I was there a few days ago and it did rain everyday and pretty heavily (the sun will come out after) but there was a system near the island. Yes hurricane season has started. Its overcast now and there was a lit sower about twenty minutes ago, I'm not in Negril though. Check the weather channels website for more info.

  2. sunny.............its summer

  3. I've been to Negril this time of year, and it's hot and humid! Get ready for a dose of reality when you get off the plane in Montego Bay. Negril is like most tropical areas. It's nice and sunny in the morning and early afternoon. Clouds will increase throughout the day, and eventually will give way to the usual afternoon thunderstorms. It clears up by evening time. The ocean water is warm, so you'll definetely enjoy that. However, the weather patterns can change, but I gurantee it'll rain. No need for a jacket, for the weather's still warm when it rains.

In regards to hurricanes, the peak of hurricane season runs from late August to early September. If there's impending danger your hotel will notify you days in advance, so you can be prepared.

On a personal note, I stayed at a Spanish hotel and it was BEAUTIFUL! I suggest going to Ocho Rios to climb the waterfall. The water in Negril is crystal clear!

  4. Very hot and it rains for a bit most days...and it is hurricane season...
