  1. New Zealand isn't part of Australia, and so there is a new zealand section on yahoo answers too.

    AS mentioned, south island is cooler than the north island, and you can definetly expect snow on and around the mountains in the central/lower south (i.e queenstown, wanaka, tekapo)

    Check out this link for more info

    and enjoy your time in New Zealand, its a beautiful place :-)

  2. This is the AUSTRALIA section, and there is a seperate section for NZ.

    I live in NZ, and I can tell you that during those 2 months it's quite cold. But of course it depends where you're going.

    In the lower south, expect daily highs from around 3-10degrees and overnight lows from +5 down to -5. Even colder in some inland parts. Generally inland NZ is colder than the coast (the reverse in summer).

    In the North, like Auckland, overnight lows are around 8degrees and highs around 15, give or take a few degrees depending on the day.

    The rest of the country will have temperatures slightly warmer than the far south and slightly cooler than the farm north.

    You can also expect gales, storms, snow and all sorts during those months but nothing too bad. It snows frequently in the far south, but not so much in the north.

    Enjoy!

  3. Brrrrrr!

  4. It varies area by area. In southern half of South Island you would need the winter woolies. Usually get good days although somewhat cool. Nights can get d**n cold.

    Central Otago is a beautiful area even in winter but can have Brass Monkey weather, you may have heard the saying "Freeze the Balls off a Brass Monkey"

    But cos of the Scenery and People it is well worth the visit

    Cool = plus 5dg C to minus 5dgC

  5. Cold!

  6. Wrong category New Zealand is not in Australia they are 2 separate countries.
