  1. hot and rainy...the northern countries have summer, the ones nearer to the equator are rainy this time of year.

depending on where you are, you may feel like it is too hot....but this time of year is best.  in the months near jan-mar and even april....it is hot and dry.  this means that vegitation can be brown.  in the rainy months, everything is green and beautiful.  april starts the rainy season....and as you go north to other central american countries....the rainy season starts in may and even june or july in mexico.

back to panama.  i am from washington state....and it was HOT to me.  the nights were NOT cool to me.  the city of boquete is nice and cool but never cold IMHO.  maybe at night one might think it coolish or cold.

the person that said it is 9 degrees from the equator is not kidding....the sun can be brutal....even when it is cloudy.  sunscreen and a large floppy hat is a good idea....along with some odorless wylers bug repellent.

  2. "This time of year" (from April to December) is the Rainy Season. It rains a little bit each day. The rain might last 20 minutes or three hours. It can vary from light rain to the heaviest downpour you've ever experienced.

The good part to that is the temperatures are a lot cooler because it is cloudy with a "broken" layer and the sun peeks through.  So while it is hot in the "Dry" season with temps in the high 80s and 90s. (maybe a day or so into 100) this time of year it is much cooler with temps in the 80s and at night in the 70s.

We are nine degrees above the equator, but at night you will want to pull that bedspread over your sheet, it's that cool at night.  The nights here are truly wonderful.

Now, I'm speaking of the coast. When you go up into the highlands it is a different story and much cooler.

The best part of our weather is the total absence of hurricanes. For reasons best understood by scientists, Panama is immune and does not get hurricanes, so while our neighbors in the rest of Central America and Florida have to worry, this time of year, hurricane season: we don't.

  3. very hot and sunny.  95-100 degrees but sun is very intense and may make it feel much hotter.

  4. Hot,sunny,90-100 degrees, just the way I like it ! It's rainy season now,so it will rain  for awhile every day.
