  1. sunny

  2. I was in Seville last June...early June, in fact, and was surprised to look at a thermometer and find that it was 42º c.  In the shade.  at 7:00pm!   That's about 110º F (I think, maybe more.  I had it figured out, but I think it would be too hard to believe.

I never thought I would do this, but I bought one of the fans, because it was so hot!  (I got my 5€ worth out of it, though!)

It's not as if we pulled out sweaters a couple of days later in Granada, but it IS definitely less hot there.

And along the coast you have the breeze from the Mediterranean, but even in Barcelona it was HOT!

(Of course, I live in the Rockies, and much higher than Granada, so, 80ºF is HOT to me...I think Barcelona was high 80s low 90s, and very humid).

  3. It depends on where you are in Andalucia. Seville is the hottest city in Europe -- hotter than Florida in the summer. Granada can be 30 degrees F colder because it is at a much higher Elevation -- near there Sierra Nevada which can be snow capped in May and later. The Sierra Nevada, meaning "snowy range" in Spanish, is a mountain range in the region of Andalusia in Spain. It contains the highest point of continental Spain, Mulhacén at 3,479 metres (11,414 ft).

The elevations vary much greater than in Florida, where the highest point is around 400 FT
