  1. The weather will be great, I recommend you bring around $100,000 dollars.

In terms of the women, the population of costa rica is approximately 50% women.

They tend to hang around outside cruise ships waiting for stupid gringos with loads of money looking for designer clothes.

  2. I live in Costa Rica and December is the beginning of the dry season. There might be some days in which it could rain but the afternoons are sunny and somewhat windy. The beaches are very hot so I recomend you take light clothes. It could get chilly at night but other than that all is great. Women are very pretty and super nice. I definitely recomend it here.

  3. December is the beginning of the dry season. You will still have a little rain but its sunny and warm.

  4. Well i was born there and in December it's peak tempatire and it's windy and barely any rain. You should take a couple hundred, i mean, nice clothing is pretty cheap there, adn you can find a lot of good deals.

  5. Sorry, no name brand or designer clothes here. Most of there clothes is imported from other countries or made locally. You will find some unique styles made locally. The only cheap jewelry is handcrafted from local materials, no gold or gemstones.

December is nice in Costa Rica, 85 degrees days to 60 degree nights. Always bring a light jacket and rain gear. It does rain a lot. Bring tough waterproof hiking boots. There is lots of mud outdoors when it rains and you just cant get around it unless you stay indoors. I would never go with any other kinds of shoes. You can bring nice casual shoes for indoors and sandals for beaches.

The problem with a December cruise to that area of the world is the storms you will or can encounter. I have taken a cruise to Western Mexico, Eastern Mexico, and Belieze (north or Costa Rica) all in December. All were bad. While on ship you pass through storms heading for the US. My last cruise, last December, I left Huston to Belieze (British Honduras) and the weather was so bad we were tossed all over the ocean for 5 days out of the week. We could not go outdoors on ship because the wind was so bad it could toss you over. The ocean was rough and it rained too. I hated it. I never got to swim or enjoy the hot tub or sunbathe.

December may be a great time to go South (Mexico, Central America) for the nice warm weather but I would never go by cruise again. It was a waste of money to me.

The Money to bring is your choice. There are lots of off-shore excusions that cost ($75 to $200 each)  and a trip here is not complete without them. There are lots of them and they really give you the chance to see the area. You miss too much without paying for these. Then you want money for shopping too. Take a credit card and at least $300 cash. It all depends on what you want to do.
