i have just bought a boat . and i don't know the weight of the boat. Details of the boat:1986 imperial boat 16 ft , fiber glass.

i need the weight of the boat, so i can combine the weight of the trolling motor and hitch receiver. i need the weight because i want to go to the ocean.

Regardless, If you have a truck, invest in a class III hitch. check the diameter of the receiver on the trailer, It is either an 1'-7/8 or a 2' You'll need to check you trailer weight too. But a class III (3) and you'll be fine. You have a pretty small boat, for going out in the ocean. I have a 19 Grady White Tournament, which is also wider than yours, and I wouldn't venture out too far. I hope you have at least a 150 hp engine.
