What is the weirdest company you have ever bought stock from?

I don't invest in "weird" companies.  I avoid them and try to convince my friends to avoid them.  One I remember that a friend asked about had a research lab at White Sands, New Mexico, the company headquarters was in San Diego, Calif. and the CEO lived in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.  Their "product" had the ability (so they said) to make electricity from the water vapor in the atmosphere.  Why they chose a dry air desert type area for their research lab I have no idea.
