  1. A white courtesy phone is a phone that they had at hotels, airports, and other large places so that you could page someone to pick it up and talk to them.  There is no number.  

    Example:  If you're meeting someone in the lounge and you're at the front desk, you could have your friend paged over the intercom.  "Ms. Smith, please pick up the white courtesy telephone."  Then your friend could pick it up and talk to you.
