What is the white stuff on my contact?

yesterday i took out my contact and i had some thick white stuff on my contact..just 2 lines of it..i didnt feel it at the time but when i put it back in it hurt a lot.. i ended up taking it out and throwing them out. i heard multiple things it could be, i heard it could be protein build up, a sign of an eye infection, or just soap..but i doubt its soap.

does anyone know?

Possibly the beginning of an eye infection..(maybe pink eye).

It sounds like protein. I use a protein remover called Supre Cleanse. It is in a green bottle and you use it daily withyour disinfectant. It takes the protein off.
