  2. That's sound advice. Plus, if you're a dirt jumper, weight can save your life because a little bit of weight means beefier parts that dont (generally) break as easy.

    Look at your hub axles...get hollow ones

    Get a titanium bottom bracket spindle

    Get lighter aluminum pedals

    Get a light seat and post

    Use single or double wall rims rather than triple wall - and use 32 spoke instead of 48

    I labor long and hard over frame designs to make sure it is as light and strong as possible for the price and expected use. Frames weigh what they have to in order to be servicable.

    Instead, think about reducing wheel weight. A 1 ounce savings from each wheel is like a performance increase of 1 pound from anything else. You can usually accomplish this buy getting better quality tires and tubes.
