  1. Good Question!

    There are wind maps at

    http://www.eere.energy.gov/windandhydro/...

The purple, red and blue areas on the map are the best for wind and wind turbines.

Hawaii has very little of red and blue areas.

Looks like the Michigan. Since the Coastal area is all excellent for wind.

I would recommend you looking at the wind maps so you could be the judge.

    Good luck on your homework!

  2. How do you define "windiest"?

The weather station with the highiest annual average speed is Mount Washington, New Hampshire (see first link).

But Edwin Black ,in his book, Internal Combustion,

” The United states could satisfy 40 percent of it’s energy needs from the steady winds of North Dakota alone. North Dakota is the windiest state in the Union with a potential of 1.2 gigawatts followed by Texas, possesing 1.1 gigawats, then Kansas, South Dakota, and Montana, each offering a full gigawatt of potential. Just 20 states from coast to coast possess enough windy terrain to power most of the country’s needs. Indeed, when all states are included, enough wind energy blows to supply the United States power needs 3 times over.”

  3. Hawaii, theres actually a rainy side and a sunny side, the rainy side is caused by a large mountain range which prevents most rain from entering the main part of Hawaii.

  4. Hawaii?
