Being in telecommunications/IT for a long time I can tell you with out doubt that it means different things to different companies and people. The company I am currently with considers every computer technician an "IT Analyst". It's the acronym they put in front of the "A" that dictates the job, for example: CMA, ASA and so on... Whatever your answers or various companies believe it's for sure the work includes sitting in front of a computer most of the day.
