I'm looking for an anthem used by a current country that has been used as a nation's anthem longer than any other national anthem.

  1. Hello my dear. The national anthem with the oldest words is that of Japan. However, it wasn't set to music until 1880.

Otherwise, it's the Dutch national anthem, "Het Wilhelmus". It dates from the late 1500s.

I hope that answers your question, sweetie. Send me an e-mail sometime.
