well i just always think of Canada as a good place to live.

But I keep hearing about how it is just seen as America's little sibbling, with no identity of it's own and always in the shadow of the US.

Honestly I don't know how Canadians feel about the American jokes that belittle them such as one of the answer given above america's cap. I can't imagine what that feels like that is all Canada is known for.

Also why is Canada depending on the US for their economy and military help so much.

Why not think about how to compete with the US economically the way China and India is doing.
